Baps
Hello all, I'm back. I've had shite all to write about recently so here's a quick recap. Nathing. I've been working lots earn my pennies as I completley skint at the mo. I get paid on Friday so I think I might have a drinking visit to either Southport or Wigan, hurrah! Been planning my single holiday this summer up to the Lake District with my mates. Should be good. I'm organising it all (like last time and any other major event) but I like it that way. I doubt I'd trust anyone else cos they'd forget things, like finding a campsite and when to go and to actually tell people we're going. Eight people in all. Last time it was only four of us, but it'll be good. It's also given a good excuse to look over big maps. I don't know why but I can fully lose myself for hours just looking at maps and finding daft place names. Tis sad but true. I found a wood near Langdale called "Rob Rash". I nearly diddled myself :-( The difficult thing is getting a date together that fits for everyone. They've got two weeks to sort it, so oh well. Going to Manchester tomorrow. Watching Shrek 2 too possibly on the iMax screen, but it sounds intimidating (the screen, not the film). JM and Gary got back this week too from Zakynthos so I'm no longer bored out of my head. Been reading an awful lot too as of late. I'm on my forth book I think. Called Empire of the Sun about a boy living in Japanese-occupied Shanghai when they entered World War II on the side of the Axis. Sounds really shite, but actually is fantastic. The follow up book is in the post fresh from eBay. I've became addicted to it. I've bought three things in the last month of it and am currently bidding on two. I've got to spend my guilders some way. Gary Current Mood: calmCurrent Music: Skunk Anansie - Selling Jesus | | Wednesday, July 14th, 2004 | | 11:19 pm |
Oooooh, Canoes
I went canoeing yesterday i the glorious Liverpool-Leeds Canal. I couldn't actually see through the water, and saw a dead duck floating in the reeds. I couldn't manage to go in a straight line and could only spin around in a circle much to the amusement of the passing by chavs and knobs finishing from the local high school - grr. I'm usually pretty good at canoeing, last time in the Lake District I managed to go around a fair amount of Coniston Water. I also went over the middle and close to the spot where the Bluebird crashed in the world speed record attempt, which was pretty weird. Day before that I helped my sisters fiancee fix them, my fingers still smell of the nasty putty. We spray painted them too, so now my sisters front garden has a redish colour about them - tres swanky. I'm off to Manchester on the morrow with Blaise, which is pretty pointless typing about as she is the only one who reads this, and Jen of course. Mum and dad phoned today (away in Devon) and they went to the Eden Project. I'm jealous and wish that I'd gone with them. Oh well :-( I should have had this diary last summer, it would have been so much more interesting for you poor folk - apologies. I also need to get more friends on this bleeding thing, not just because I'm bored out of my arse, but I look like a right sad git with only two people in my friends list. Bored
My arm looks funny. Was having a "play fight" with Hooch (border terrier) and he seems to have given my arm the raised-red-lines look. He's now proceeded to start howling and pretending to be dead in the wash basket. Strange.

I wish I went to the Move Festival yesterday. I would have actually done something and enjoyed myself, instead of watching Will & Grace (I apologise). I think I'm meeting up with mates tonight for a movie and pizza (how Yankee of me and original). I must say though that Bev is severely funny, if not on verge of institutionalisation.
I'm also getting rather confused with this bleeding iBook. I like the way OS X works, but Windows is so much more easy. I only have one mouse button too, argh. Gartho Current Mood: complacentCurrent Music: Dirty Monkey - Moloko :-S | | Friday, July 9th, 2004 | | 8:45 pm |
joy
Welcome to my journal Jamie, as it is but you who will be reading it :-( Spread the word! Today I have done nathing. Not a sausage. The day peaked when I spent my fourth hour on the web - oh the joy. Was going to go to Wigan tonight to the wondrous Lux Club, but chose not to. I don't take kindly to scary train rides home at half eleven at night (yes, I am a fanny). Need to actually start thinking about money, uni on the horizon and all. All my friends have gone on holiday, but I could not afford to. Some in Gran Canaria, others in Zakynthos and the odd one or two in Ibiza. I've got to entertain myself for 2 weeks. Any suggestions? I'm half way through my book and have already invested in anytime internet access. I'd look pretty sad just going down to the local pub on my lonesome, as I am neither 55 or divorced. |
